I don't know if that perception among new employees still exists or not.. but it was a misconception I had when i first started. some go on in educating.. some move on to take jobs in poison control centers.. work for boards of pharmacy, or even go on to found the largest professional pharmacy tech associations. i forgot who that was ;-) a good light on motivated people who break the molds... sounds like you guys have a good idea brewing. i think it would be great (especially for new techs) to see shining examples of techs who evolve from the traditional role and show that we are not limited by just counting pills or “licking and sticking”. We have a pharmacy tech week in Alberta. Various events, speechs, and activities take place. Some pharmacies invite the public to learn more about technicians, and the service we provide. Great idea.
